LendingTree: Number Of Borrowers Who Received Rates Under 4.25% Dips

Last week borrowers who were able to secure a loan had the ability to save $47,073 on a $300,000 loan, according to a recent HousingWire report. Despite this great news, a recent LendingTree Mortgage Rate Competition Index shows that there has been a slight dip in the number of borrowers who received a mortgage rate under 4.25%.

The index shows that that number of borrowers rolled back by .99 percent from the previous week. Fore borrowers who went after 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages, the company's data revealed 15.4% of borrowers were offered rates below 4%, according to HousingWire.

"When it came to 30-year fixed-rate, refinance borrowers, 70.6% received offers under 4.25%, sliding from 72.8% one week prior," according to the report.

"Nevertheless, this rate is still up from 2018’s rate when 0% of refinance offers were under 4.25%."
