CoreLogic: Mortgage Delinquency Rates Near Historic Lows
A new CoreLogic Loan Performance Insights report revealed mortgage delinquency rates are near historic lows, despite some disaster-stricken areas across the U.S. reporting increases.
"Despite some regional spikes related to hurricane and fire impacted areas, overall delinquency rates are near or at historic lows," said Frank Martell, CoreLogic's president and CEO, according to the insights.
Meanwhile, the report revealed that the 30-day delinquency rates tripled in Panama City, FL for September and October of 2018 due to the lasting effects of Hurricane Michael.
Hurricanes Irma and Florence from 2017 and 2018 respectively are still impacting metros in both North and South Carolina with 7 metro areas between both states seeing an annual increase in 2018.
