Innovation: Taking Reverse Mortgage Knowledge to the Airwaves


It is becoming much more evident that in current times, innovations necessary in the mortgage world, especially the home equity conversion mortgage world. A recent report shared an innovative way to get information about HECMs out to the public and it is something companies should start thinking about.

"Michael Banner, the president of Professional Mortgage Alliance LLC in Clearwater, Fla., is no stranger to using media to extol the virtues of reverse mortgages," according to ReverseMortgageDaily.

"During the past six years he’s appeared on Fox News and local CBS and ABC stations. He’s also been a regular on radio shows, fighting the negative public perception associated with Home Equity Conversion Mortgages."

Banner's experience has led him to create his own webcast called "62WhoKnew" according to the report. In this series, Banner discusses various topics that pertain to the reverse mortgage industry, including demographics, statistics and updates that HECM professionals and folks seeking them should be keeping up with.

“I purposely did not talk about reverse mortgages for months,” said Banner, according to the report.

“I waited eight weeks before I did a reverse mortgage show.”

Banner is also using the platform to generate more business for himself by setting up 30-second commercial spots for himself, according to the report.

This is a pretty interesting tactic and one that could help many more companies get their names out there, as well as generate some business from listeners/viewers.
