Idaho and Utah Home Construction Tops the Nation
With growing concern over the lack of inventory across the nation, there are plenty of states that are scrambling to build new properties. A new report shows that Idaho and Utah are at the top of the list when it comes to the speed at which new homes are being built.
"Even as it struggles to shelter its rapidly growing population, Idaho built new housing units at a faster pace than all but one other state, according to new data released by the U.S. Census Bureau on Thursday," according to National Mortgage News.
"Between July 1, 2016, and July 1, 2017, Idaho was the second fastest-growing state in the nation in terms of housing construction, with an increase of 1.7% in the number of single family houses, condominiums, apartments and other units."
While Idaho is taking charge in home building, they still have a ways to go to catch up to Utah. Utah's housing units jumped by 2.1% within the same period of Idaho's 1.7% growth.
