California home prices have continued to jump year-after-year. Cities including Sacramento are encountering home prices that are in the record books.
"The median sales price of existing single-family homes rose across the Sacramento region in February compared with the same month last year, while newly built homes accounted for a larger share of the region's residential real estate market, CoreLogic reported Thursday," according to a recent National Mortgage News report.
"In Sacramento County, where the vast majority of homes in the capital region trade hands, the median sales price was up more than 6% in February compared with February 2017. It rose from $310,500 to $330,000, the Irvine-based real estate tracking firm said."
Meanwhile, counties like El Dorado and Placer are also seeing substantial year-over-year median sales price increases for detaches resale homes, according to the report.
In addition to the median sale price rising significantly, the report also revealed that sales for new homes also increased dramatically from February 2017 to February 2018.
