One Company's Innovative Way of Celebrating with Mortgage Clients

Landing a home is a huge milestone and often times, mortgage lenders will say thank you to customers with little gifts and tokens of appreciation. One company is turning that notion up a bit by sponsoring housewarming parties for clients.

The Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union has been sponsoring and planning housewarming parties for their customers following closings. While it's a great way to impress your clients, this has also led to an increase in business.

"Recently, the $1.3 billion institution held a party for an engaged couple who had just bought a home in Deerfield, N.H., Derek Knapp and Michelle Lipfert," according to National Mortgage News.

"They were joined by about 70 friends, family members and co-workers who celebrated along with them."

These housewarmings are held at a rate of once every four to six months, according to the report, and the company has actually been able to secure additional transactions as a result of them.

"But how do Jeanne D’Arc representatives pick which new borrowers will have their own party? It’s done democratically," according to the report.

“We choose randomly from our pool of first-time home buyers and reach out to them to see if they are interested,” explains, Jason Dubois, Mortgage Loan Origination Manager for Jeanne D'Arc Credit Union.

The company didn't say exactly how many additional transactions they received though, any additional transactions are positive when it comes to originations and lending.
