Fed Reserve Predicts December Interest-Rate Increase

November 27, 2017

There has been plenty of back and forth on the price of homes and what prospecting buyers can look forward to in the future. Despite that debate, the Federal Reserve is predicting an up-tick in interest-rates for the month of December.

"'Many participants thought that another increase in the target range for the federal funds rate was likely to be warranted in the near term if incoming information left the medium-term outlook broadly unchanged,' according to minutes from their Oct. 31-Nov. 1 gathering, released in Washington on Nov. 22," according to a National Mortgage News report.

According to the report, the Fed believes there will be an increase in home prices given the steady state of the economy. The drop in the unemployment rate is also feeding their prediction which now includes another predicted interest-rate increase come March of next year.
